Australian IT reported that ERICSSON has demonstrated a new wireless broadband technology that transmits data 20 times faster than current 3G systems.
The bad news is that it won't be available in Australia for at least another two years.
The technology, which is being positioned by the telecommunications global standards body 3GPP as a successor to High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) networks, is known as LTE (Long Term Evolution) and transmits data at a peak speed of 160Mbps.
